English: Tony Levin playing the Chapman Stick ...

Tony Levin is just a monster on the bass and the Chapman stick.  There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

How many musical artists out there can claim that they played the White House as a member of a local youth orchestra … and the President at the time was John F. Kennedy?  Tony Levin can.

Ever heard Alice Cooper’s “Welcome To My Nightmare?”  Tony played on it.

Ever heard Paul Simon’s “Still Crazy After All These Years?”  Tony played on it.

If any top musicians ever need a rock-solid bass player in the studio or in a live setting, Tony Levin often gets the call.

I was reminded of these truths when my friend Sean Tonar from www.progressiveears.com posted this little ditty on his Facebook page from one of the many “versions” of the progressive rock group King Crimson.

Oh, but that’s not all when it comes to Tony Levin.  Far from it.  Check it out and see if you agree.  Oh, but proceed with a word of warning:  Some of this stuff is not for the “faint of heart,” musically speaking.  Lawrence Welk it ain’t.

And then there’s Tony solo with his very own band.

It’s enough to fry your brain.  Any questions?
