I love weekends.  What can I say?  I especially love Saturdays, my day of rest as one of those “weird” Seventh-day Adventists.

I had an online friend of mine mentioning a certain Presidential candidate to me this week, and he mistakenly referred to the candidate as being a Seventh-day Adventist himself.  My friend had a “brain cramp,” and he realized it after I had to correct him.

“Well, you both have the word ‘day’ in the middle of the church’s title,” he said.  I had to chuckle over that.

Close, but no cigar.

There are otherwise some major differences in beliefs between my church and the Presidential candidate’s church … not that I look down upon the people who belong to that church.  If I did, I wouldn’t be a very good neighbor around my neck of the woods.

And I know for a fact that the members of the Presidential candidate’s church don’t go for the kind of Christian music I do — that K-Love kind of tuneage.  It’s too “evangelical.”

Been there, heard that.  Otherwise, I get along with my neighbors just fine.  That’s the way this Christianity game should be played.

I’ll just keep singin’ out.  I can find plenty of reasons to do so, no matter what may happen otherwise.  It keeps me going.
