This is a big weekend for a lot of progressive rock fans.  Starting Friday and running through Sunday, prog rock fans from the U.S. and beyond will be traveling to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for the Northeast Art Rock Festival — also known as NEARfest — at the Zoellner Arts Center.

This year’s NEARfest promises to provide perhaps the biggest draw in the event’s history, which dates back to 1999.  Sadly, it is also expected to be the last NEARfest in its current incarnation, with organizers dubbing it “NEARfest Apocalypse.”

The progressive supergroup U.K. is the headline act Sunday night, Renaissance headlines on Saturday night, and I’ve featured both of them in my playlist.

The headline act for the opening night is remaining for a playlist here.  And here we have the music of Van Der Graaf Generator.
