I’m not shy about saying what’s on my mind, and I’m not shy when it comes to getting up in front of a group of people — large or small — and speaking in person.
If you’ve been following this blog at all as I’ve published daily over the past year, or close to it, you’ll see that I’m passionate about a variety of things: parenting, family life, politics, faith, music, the media, poverty, homelessness, leadership or the lack thereof, maintaining a middle class way of life, etc.
If you like what you see in my written words, you’ll get just as much enjoyment out of my spoken words. I write with passion, and I speak with passion. In the words of some of my readers — specifically on articles that I’ve written here about spending time with the homeless and doing everything in our power to help that specific group of people — you’ll find words like “inspiring” used to describe my writing.
It’s not that hard for me to do. I write from the heart, and I speak in the same manner.
When this blog that I created purely from scratch nearly a year ago starts to get the attention of representatives at The Huffington Post as it did recently — asking me to appear on a segment of HuffPost Live, as you’ll see in a comment on my “About” page — then it’s approaching a level of readership that bloggers dream about. When it reaches out to and touches a worldwide audience the way this one has on a daily basis — from the United States to the United Kingdom, viewed regularly by people in India and France and Australia and Germany, reaching out to people at times in Turkey and Tunisia and many points in between across pretty much every continent — I believe it’s having an impact. It’s touching people around the world in a variety of ways, and that was my intention here from the very beginning. I’ve reached that goal.
I can speak to a variety of audiences and do it in a highly motivational and inspiring way: conferences and organizations, churches, businesses (want to work on improving communications in a business environment? I have some insight there), students, even a group of fellow bloggers who may have the same dreams and goals that I’ve had and want to know how to begin to reach them in an effective way.
