On this day for country in a “giants week” for the playlist, I’m going to “The Man In Black,” Johnny Cash.
If you ever read a blog article of mine and at the bottom of it you see the words “Copyright 2012, Daddysangbassdude Media,” the name was inspired by the song “Daddy Sang Bass” by Johnny Cash himself. That’s how much I’ve been around his music.
When I was a kid, I used to listen to the song “Ring of Fire” pretty often. It used to scare me back then, imagining what it must have been like to fall into a literal ring of fire. It wasn’t until later years when I understood the figurative meaning of what Johnny was singing that it made so much more sense.
Johnny Cash lived quite a life. It’s no wonder a movie was made out of it.
