Can you imagine being a musician and playing before an audience of 3.5 million people — in one show?

French electronic music composer/performer Jean Michel Jarre has done it.  He just keeps breaking his own Guinness Book of World Records marks as he goes along.

I’ve been listening to Jarre’s music off and on since the late 1970s.  I thought then that it was “the music of the future.”  It’s the kind of stuff that’s best listened to with a great pair of headphones, to just let the atmospheric sounds sweep through your ears.  It will take you through a musical journey if you just close your eyes and catch the ride, but it’s his live concerts that have made for an even bigger spectacle that has to be seen to be believed.

Jarre has the bloodlines for such things.  His father was legendary Hollywood film scorer Maurice Jarre, who wrote the music for films such as “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Doctor Zhivago” and who has his own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

How big are Jean Michel Jarre’s concerts?  I can’t begin to tell you.  I can try to show you, however.
